Neighborhood resident Mayumi Sue exhibits at Bedford Village market

The Village of Bedford, also known as, Bedford Corners
holds a great past prior to brownstone Brooklyn of today.
Before Bedford Corners and Stuyvesant Heights fused to
become one neighborhood this farming township was largely owned by
the Lefferts family, who were one of the first families to settle in Bedford .
The Lefferts farm house and the Rem Lefferts mansion that stood on Arlington Pl
and Fulton Street held an historic place connected to the heritage of Brooklyn's past
as well as the American Revolutionary War,
This intersection played a pivotal role in the Battle of Brooklyn, August 1776,
and today serves as the meeting grounds for The Market at Bedford Village .
We are proud to play a part in the preservation of the local heritage
and contributing to the vibrant character of the community today.
